Bethan Watkins

I'm a Jersey channel islands based painter and poetry writer, I studied Art and photography and sociology at A level and went on to Arts university Bournemouth to do an Art foundation diploma. Beyond that my real qualifications are that I love creating and the wild land, the seas and curious expression, I have a keen interest in spiritual studies - Yoga, mediation. I love to surf and ride horses, animals have always been a huge part of my life, I'm also studying Ayurveda, and herbalism, and learning to live in harmony with nature. Art helps me in my own inner exploration into the mystery of life. What does it mean to live? In my painting work where I let my mind go, the work speaks of life's fluidity, unexpectedness, symbolism and vibrancy. In my written work I explore many different avenues, often the deeper mystery of life, planes of consciousness, and love in all its form. I'm open to new ways of creating, and connecting with others, good conversations and dancing, humour is a must for me. Whats life without some silliness and fun? I'm looking forward to future collaborations, exhibitions, and artist residencies.
